Hello, In sim 44-17 you can do a drum blade refresh and a developer refresh. Is there any way the customer can do a developer refresh- toner add? The customer does large print jobs and sometimes the density is lighter towards the end of their jobs. Just seeing if any way for customer can tone it up? I dont see any way for them to do it, but I almost feel like I have seen something before. Thanks.
It absolutely should not be necessary to do any such thing. Sharps have precise image density sensors. If density falls below the threshold, the machine pauses the print job that is in progress to cycle and replenish toner. I see this especially on the faster machines. Totally normal - customers don't like it, but it is what it is.
Had a 6070 once that during a 1500 pg full page color job, it did process control twice, and both times it changed the overall color of the pages. It was supposed to be more of a magenta/purple color, and after the first process control it changed closer to red, and the second time it changed closer to purple. Our DSS just suggested having the customer running color calibration in system settings periodically. Easy for them to do, but unfortunate that they had to do it. They never called about it again though, which was nice I guess.

On our machines in the shop, if I go into sims and do developer refresh, they go through the cycle and I hear toner being added, some other brand machines the customer can do a toner add or refresh, although those machines were old and maybe no current machines do it. Not a huge problem with the customer, just seeing if there was something I was not seeing. Thanks for replying.

Try this, so that the machine performs a process control more frequently: Sim 44-62
PROCON
MODE
HIGH QUALITY1 The execution frequency of the process
control is high. (It is set when the color
image quality is given priority.)
HIGH QUALITY2 The execution frequency of the process
control is highest. (It is set when the color
image quality is given priority.)
PRINT
PERFORMANCE
The execution frequency of the process
control is low. (It is set when the job
speed is given priority.)
BW MODE The process control is executed in the
normal frequency. (It is set when there
are little color jobs and many
monochrome jobs.)
NORMAL
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential
