Have a Ricoh MP C3503 that takes a very long time (as much as 20 minutes to print a 2 page PDF doc) to print any PDF file, but prints a Word file very quickly and fine.
Have tried reloading 3 different print drivers, have tried disconnecting the HDD, have tried reformatting the HDD, none of which has helped the situation. Besides trying to replace the HDD and/or reloading and updating the firmware, can anyone suggest something else to try?
Maybe try a different PDF program. Adobe Reader has been making havoc lately with slow printing and unreliable output. I have been using Foxit Reader and that works well.
Also put the file onto another pc and plug directly into the machine via ethernet without changing copier IP settings. Test the print job there, that way you can see if it's the program/file or their network that is slowing down the print job.
If the connection is wireless, try wired.
Also, if the pdf is large (like 10mb or over) machines may take a while.
Also take a look at the print que, is it staying inside the print que and not leaving to the machine? Machine won't start until it has enough data. (hence i mentioned try your pc)
You say you've confirmed that it's not a WSD port or IPP port issue, so does it happen with all or multiple pc's or just one?
I'm thinking this is a pc and/or software issue and has nothing to do with the machine itself
Happens with all PC's.
Weird thing is it's been working fine up until just this last week. Again only happens with PDF files Word files print fine. Job status just says waiting for data then processing data light starts the flash on the copier then just goes to solid blue light. Also shows at the copier that' it's a power point document when it is just a plain text PDF 2 sided document with very little color and not hardly any graphics at all on the page.
Happens with all PC's.

That may be a result of a Windows update. Major updates can replace TCPIP ports with WSD on print driver configuration. There are only 2 things that I know of that will cause a PDF file to take that long to print and not throw an error on a Ricoh. Both are Microsoft caused. The WSD driver and Ricoh "type" driver. Word files print fine because Microsoft wants you to use their software.
