What would cause this? Happens when feeding original through document feeder. Originals are fed LEF, and copies are made SEF. This is apparently and intermittent problem. Was not happening when I arrived, as was informed. However, it did start before I left after servicing copier. Any help appreciated. Thank you!
Clean slit glass inside and outside, also mirrors. Make sure feeder sits flush with no gap. Machine is at least 20 years old, time to invest in a newer copier...
Its a.n old machine. Ive seen the transport rollers in the ADF turn to goo.
I have as well and know that is not the problem. Thinking that the feeder not sitting properly may be the way to go. Would replace copier if I could afford to however while I like the newer copiers for what they provide for user not sold on them from service stand point due to the cost on parts,
Thanks for the replies!!!

You could get a 3050-4050 for not much money and have a reliable workhorse. I have been replacing old 3035/4035 for the 3050 and 4050. The DF is bulletproof. I have them as self service in pharmacies and convenience stores, some close to 2million on the clock...
Dirty optics would be consistent.
Dirty or damaged shading plate would make the images light, not dark.
I don't think that it's ADF height. You would have a more even gradation, rear to front.
Maybe you've got a failing lamp. I've never seen one on a FalconII, but I've never had one this old. I've had Xenon lamps in Sharp Cougars of this vintage start to flicker or not light.
You might have a bad CCD or Main board, but I would think it would be consistent.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

with the problem only appearing when using the adf would be a lamp problem??? I would think if lamp problem would occur if original was placed on glass also. I failed to attach a sample of problem feeding original through SEF as the way the copies are made. Would have shown the markings running down page yet not as wide if that leads to anything else.
The folks with the Sharp said that it only did it through the ADF ... except they never copied off the glass.
How about a lamp cable? They fail most frequently all the way to the slit glass. =^..^=

I'll check it out; thanks!!! As I stated earlier problem wasn't happening until after cleaning some transport rollers on the adf which I don't think were a problem, customer saw that they were dirty and thought they were causing the problem. I was packed and ready to leave and then the problem started so if a cable I'll find it interesting. I do like the lamp as a problem if it was happening whether copies were made with feeder or not.
